Four on a bus –
double seats facing,
chatter like magpies
making a fuss.
Try not to listen
to so many words
whilst watching four pretty ones
dainty as birds.
Try to remember –
half understand –
what it was like
to be part of a band.
The topic is shopping,
"Top Shop" seems to win,
The best occupation.
Not shopping's a sin.
Money's no object,
They go for the best.
Chattering brightly
puts friendship to test.
They are clubbing this evening,
Some kind of hop.
Oh dear; what a nuisance,
Joyce Harrington
